• Mission Aviation
BiographicalID 44. Durk, a Dutchman born in 1958, grew up with little knowledge of who God was. In 1978, he came to know the Lord while he was training to be an airline pilot. He served with inner city ministries in the US and Philippines, sang in choirs, taught church classes and ran camera for TV ministries.
While working as a pilot, God burdened him to serve full time in missions. In preparation, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Ministries and Missions. He met Sandy Beach in college. She shared his love for missions, and they were married in 1987. Durk became an aviation maintenance specialist at Moody Bible Institute.
They joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1989, and Durk moved from aviation to Scripture engagement serving all over the world. Sandy home-schooled their five children. Durk worked in many capacities and countries with Wycliffe and associated ministries. They still have a passion of drawing people to the God.
